Farangis, priestress of the Goddess Misra (goddess of Intelligence and wisdom) in Fuzesutan region, on the occasion of Arslan's birth, in year 306 of the Pars calendar, was chosen as his protector.

Little else is known of this elusive character, very knowledgeable both in higher learning and marital arts, surpassing many in her fighting skills, to such a point that Darun, in admiration, was known to have called her 'The Goddess of bow and arrow in this world'.

She carries with her a crystal flute that never leaves her side, and when she plays it, she is in touch with the soul of the land. She can sense the truth of one's words, the state of a far away battlefield, the presence of hidden enemies, or predict things to come. She pushes men away, to preserve her purity, but also to hide the sadness of her past

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Farangis's Goddess Misra seems to be inspired by the Iranian God Mithra, whose symbol, the bull, is represented in the 'horns' of the priestess's tiara. Arslan, born under the protection of Misra, also sports horns on his golden helm. See Mithra in OAV World for more information.

Farangis and Guibu through the eyes of Katsuki Masako:
When Fanrangis and Guibu are together, they are not really clingy. They only exchange friendly banter. But, from OAV3 onwards, when Guibu leaves the castle and Farangis tells him "Please go quickly", I think she developped deeper feelings.
