Zaravant could stand by Darun and Quishwald unashamed, as far as swordsman and heros go. But while they are thoughtful and clam, he is quick-tempered, and distrustful of foreigners, especially those staying close to the Crown Prince Arslan. His loyalty pushes him into a quarrel with Jaswant, who has appointed himself as Arslan's bodyguard, quarrel that almost led to a duel. It will lead to their both staying outside his door, sitting on the cold floor, for a whole night, then cementing a fragile friendship.

He has a talent for public works, and plans the restauration of the irrigation system of Ekubatana, that was destroyed in its fall to the Lusitanians.
